A Victorian 1827 pattern Rifle Officer's sword by R. Jones & Son Market Place Lynn.
Blade with etched panels 'Presented by Miss E. Davy . of Heacham to J. De C Hamilton Lieut 17 th Norfolk Rifle Vol. R December 1860'.
This sword has been in my own collection for many years. I have done some research into it's history and have found it to be very interesting. I will pass on this information to the new owner, but I am sure whoever buys it will enjoy doing their owe research.
Note: John de Courcy Hamilton was the brother of Thomas de Courcy Hamilton VC winner at the Siege of Sebastopol.
Sword and scabbard are in very good condition.
