The Merseyside Police had three sizes of truncheons that they had commissioned in the early 1880's ; a standard 15.5 inch for uniform duty, a shorter 13 inch for plain clothes & CID & a 10.5 inch for Women Police to carry in the handbag that Women Police carried in the 1980's.
This example is an original 1980's 15.5 inch (33cm) heavy wood 358g Merseyside Policeman's Truncheon.
