A rare British police flail of the type that was intended to be carried in tailcoat pockets of Police officers during the mid 19 ^th century circa 1850

This is a rare carved wood flail with two parts joined by a metal link 21 ½ inches (54cm) long overall.

In good solid condition with a couple of splits to wood that are consistent with its age.
