Battalion Highland Light Infantry.
The 1 st
Battalion, Highland Light Infantry (HLI) was stationed in the Mesopotamian (modern-day Iraq) during the First World War conducting operations against the Ottoman Empire.
The bayonet has a 17 inch (43cm) clean blade stamped at the ricasso 1907, '7 - 17' for the issue date of July 1917 and the makers name 'SANDERSON'. The other side has the War Department broad arrow and several inspection stamps.
Complete with it's black leather scabbard.
