This is a matching numbers model 1866 Chassepot sword bayonet & scabbard. Both bayonet and scabbard are stamped with the same matching serial number C 7000.
Blade spine is inscribed 'Chat 1871' which is for the Chatellerault arsenal and manufacture date of 1871.
Overall length 28” (71cm)
Bayonet is in very good condition with a clean blade.
