Peabody Martini Rifle Bayonet

A scarce bayonet for the Peabody Martini Rifle.

These bayonets are very smiler to the French model 1874 Gras bayonet but were specifically manufactured to fit the 1874 Peabody Rifle.

The bayonet has a polished 52.2cm T back blade, crossguard with hooked quilon, riveted wood grips and brass pommel with leaf spring release button.

This example is unmarked so is probably a French Turkish contract.

Overall length 66cm.

Muzzel ring diameter 18mm.

Good all around condition with clean undamaged blade, complete with steel scabbard.
