A rare WWI P1907 SMLE bayonet by Remington with South African military acceptance stamp.
Remington only produced 100,000 1907 pattern bayonets in total compared to the millions produced by other manufacturers.
The bayonet has a 17 inch (43cm) clean blade stamped at the ricasso with '1907' over '11 – 15' for the manufacture date of November 1915 and the makers stamp of Remington within a circle.
The opposite side of the ricasso has the British War Department broad arrow and several inspection stamps.
The pommel has the Union of South Africa ownership stamp.
Complete with black leather scabbard.
All in very good condition.
