British 1856 Pattern Drummers Sword for The Sherwood Foresters
A Victorian Mark I 1856 patter British Army Drummer Sword, with brass gothic cruciform hilt with VR cypher, 19 ¼ inch blade etched with the maker details of 'ROB MOLE & SONS MAKERS BIRMINGHAM'.
Hilt is stamped V.1.D.Y 7 for the 1st Volunteer Battalion Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire regiment (The Sherwood Foresters).
Sword and scabbard are in totally uncleaned original as found condition. The brass will polish up well if desired.
24 ½ inches overall length.
