This is a 2 nd
pattern M1886 Lebel rifle bayonet with white metal removable hilt, no quillion and squarer shape button catch. The cruciform blade is 520mm (20 1/2"), working spring catch; it is complete with its original steel scabbard which is free of dents.
These bayonet's were used by the French in WWI and as with this one were painted black for night use.
Good overall condition with straight blade and no damage.
