Lee Metford P1888 MKI Type II Bayonet for The Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders

A MKI type II P1888 British Lee Metford bayonet stamped on the pommel '3.CAM' for the 3rd Battalion Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders Regiment.

The 3rd (Militia) Battalion Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders was an infantry reserve unit originating from the Inverness-shire Militia. It trained recruits and supplied home defense and frontline drafts. Key milestones include its 1802 formation, 1908 re-designation as a Special Reserve unit, and World War I service in Scotland and Ireland.

The bayonet has a 12 inch (30.3cm) blade stamped at the ricasso with a V.R Crown over '9 - 93' for the issue date of September 1893 and numerous other issue dates and proof markings, the other side has the War Department broad arrow.

Complete with it's original black leather scabbard.
