WW1 Model 1898 / 05 G98 Mauser Butcher Bayonet This is a totally original 1916 dated Imperial German Pattern 1898/05 Butchers Bayonet scabbard & leather frog for the Gew. 98 Mauser Rifle.
The 36cm blade is stamped on the spine with a crown over ' W 16' (1916) and the ricasso is stamped 'Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. Oberndorf an.
Bayonet has pitting to hilt, wood grips are good with no damage, blade is clean with some patches of light staining, scabbard is original and is a nice tight fit for the blade.
