Rare P1888 Lee Metford Bayonet to the Royal Garrison Artillery

British P1888 MK1 Type 2 Lee Metford bayonet stamped on the pommel 'YK RGA' for the Alexandra, Princess of Wales's Own Yorkshire Regiment, Royal Garrison Artillery.

The Royal Garrison Artillery (RGA) was a branch of the British Army formed in 1899 to man heavy, siege, and coastal defence guns. Unlike mobile field artillery, it was vital during World War I for long-range bombardments on the Western Front.

Yorkshire raised multiple local artillery units that were integrated into the RGA.

Bayonet with a 12 inch polished steel blade stamped at the ricasso with numerous inspection and date stamps, manufacturer name 'WILKINSON, and 'WD' War Department stamp.

This is a rare Royal Garrison Artillery bayonet Complete with it's original black leather scabbard and in very good condition.
