WWI P1907 SMLE Bayonet, 7th Battalion Middlesex Regiment

A British P1907 bayonet regimentally stamped on the pommel '7 M.X' for the 7th Battalion the Middlesex Regiment (The Duke of Cambridge's Own).

The 7th Battalion, The Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment) was a prominent Territorial Force unit formed in 1908, with headquarters in Hornsey, North London. They served with distinction on the Western Front in World War I and as a machine gun battalion in World War II. The regiment was known as "The Die-Hards," a nickname originating from the Peninsula War

The bayonet has a 17 inch (43cm) clean blade stamped at the ricasso with a crown over '1907', '0 – 16' for October 1917 and the makers name "SANDERSON" the other side has the War Department broad arrow and several inspection stamps.

Complete with black leather scabbard.

All in good condition.
