British 1804 Pattern Naval Boarding Cutlass
A scarce original British Royal Navy figure-of-eight 1804 pattern boarding cutlass.
The 1804 pattern cutlass was the first regulation pattern cutlass to be introduced by the Royal Navy and saw service during the Napoleonic Wars and the Battle of Trafalgar.
This example has a 27 ½ inch (70cm) blade stamped at the ricasso with a crown over G.R.
Faint maker name to the blade spine (possibly Reddell).
Cutlass has pitting throughout, hilt and blade are solid.
A good hard to find honest example.
