A rare set of mid 19th century Police handcuffs by Field & Sons 233 Holborn London with original key.
Field & Sons had premise at 233 Holborn between 1842 and 1877 and was a manufacturer and suppler of police equipment. Each cuff is stamped' FIELD & SONS 233 HOLBORN LONDON', 'BEST', 'WARRANTED WROUGHT', and the number '19'.
Field handcuff are unique as the key has to be turned anticlockwise to open them rather than clockwise has most other cuffs of the period.
In very good condition and working order with matching number number key.
