A Victorian Police Officer's cutlass with shagreen ribbed grips, brass D shaped knuckle guard, stepped pommel and 23 inch curved fullered blade.
These type of cutlasses were issued to British Police and prison officer during times of riots or dangerous situation such as arresting armed criminals and night duty in dangerous areas.
Hilt is tight to the blade, shagreen grips are in good condition, blade has some age related staining but remains undamaged.
