A Rare 1893 Pattern Yataghan sword bayonet bushed for the Martini Henry MK III Artillery Carbine. See page 157 of Skennerton's book British & Commonwealth Bayonets (B119).
Sword bayonet with a 22.8 inch (58cm) blade stamped with various inspector's marks including '93' for the conversion date of 1893. The two piece grip's are pressed black leather and are secured with five steel rivets.
Bayonet is contained it it's original Garrison Artillery type steel scabbard.
Very good condition with just some very light staining to blade and a small area of pitting to tip of the scabbard.
Only 500 of these bayonets where converted making them quite rare.
